WHOOSH

(carpet, plexi glass, video, 2018)

I edited the video of the installation from footage that was recorded with a camera mounted  on a moving vehicle. The carpet pieces were born from the phenomenon that is the camera's characteristic: the camera sensor can not accurately capture movement over a certain speed. As a result, the image bends, blurs as if a section of time is abstracted to a picture. The condensed time becomes objective, touchable.

The text used for the video of the performance was based on documentations of Syrian refugees.

Made at the WOOLCANO Alternative Textile Symposion debut exhibition.

2018, Jan. 18-Feb.18, Castle District Gallery, Budapest
